Welcome to the website of the International Conference on Education Research. In 2010, the Conference will be held at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside.

Kerry Lassiter will deliver a keynote address at the meeting, "Research Guiding Literacy Practices in Louisiana." Dr. Lassiter is the Executive Director for PreK-12 Literacy at the Louisiana Department of Education. She has received numerous awards, including selection as Louisiana Principal of the year, the Fouquier Education Leadership Award, and Fulbright Scholar.

This conference will draw together faculty, researchers and education professionals from various fields within education and provide them with the opportunity to interact with colleagues from the same and related fields. An additional goal of the conference is to provide a place for academicians and professionals with cross-disciplinary interests related to education to meet and interact with members outside their own particular disciplines. Cross-disciplinary proposal submissions are particularly encouraged as is participation by international scholars. The research areas represented will include:

  • Art Education; Music Education
  • Business Education; Health Education
  • Counseling and Educational Psychology
  • Curriculum, Research and Development
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Education Leadership & Policy Studies
  • Educational Administration
  • Educational Foundations
  • Educational Measurement and Evaluation
  • Elementary; Secondary; Higher Education; Adult Education
  • English as a Second Language
  • Indigenous Education
  • Instructional Systems & Technology; Distance Education
  • Language Education; Reading Education
  • Mathematics; Science; Social Studies Education
  • Physical Education & Kinesiology
  • Rural Education
  • Special Education
  • Teacher Education

Participants are welcome to submit a paper proposal to present either a 30-minute paper presentation, or to jointly present a 90-minute colloquium session. We try to organize similar presentations in tracks throughout the conference. The type of papers presented include: research (qualitative or quantitative),  theoretical articles, as well as papers prepared by practitioners that deal with application, best practices, and case studies.

Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the meeting, presenters are able to receive feedback from researchers from a different subfield, often bringing up ideas or concepts that might otherwise be overlooked in a subject specific silo. It is a presenter’s conference and we strongly encourage people to attend sessions through the entire three day conference. The conference registration fee includes a plated lunch each day of the conference, as well as an opening night reception, providing attendees an opportunity to meet and get to know each other.

Speakers at previous related conferences include: Peter Levine, CIRCLE, Richard Niemi, University of Rochester, Carolyn Pereira, Constitutional Rights Foundation, Trey Grayson, Kentucky Secretary of State.

These conferences are now held in cities in North America. A previous conferences was held in Vancouver. Future conferences will be held in Orlando and in Las Vegas. We have held Civic Education specific conferences in New Orleans, Reno, Orlando, and Nashville.

Hotel rates at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside are only $149 for a single or double room. Our group code is "CPP" and you can make reservations directly here.  Student registration rates are $300, and faculty registration rates are $375.
